Welcome to my blog! I am an author of short stories and poetry and live with my family near the Victorian town of Myrtleford. I have worked as a market researcher, English teacher to non-native speakers, outdoor recreation instructor, cook, cleaner, warehouse labourer – and more besides. I have lived in South Korea and love reading Charles Dickens; when I’m not writing I enjoy silence, cooking, badminton, learning how to tie ropes, and going on nature walks. Learning languages is also fun (Korean, Hebrew, and Norwegian are already in my repertoire).
I have named this blog Liquørice Fjørds because I love the beauty of Norwegian fjørds (please look them up online to see how magnificent they are) and I love eating liquorice, and the notion of there being a fjørd filled with liquorice has a certain poetic appeal.
I am currently in the process of writing a poetic adaptation of the book of Hosea. Thus far, I have written:
- A Master of Theology thesis about the book of Lamentations and how writing poetry helps to process grief; you can download it here: MTh Thesis – Elegiac Poetry & Lamentations (PDF);
- A poetic adaptation of The Song of Solomon; you can download it here: Walking with Jesus In the Garden (PDF).
